Comment | I know someone who was struggling with public speaking, they spoke to their GP and they were prescribed a low dose of propranolol.
It slows down your heart beat but has no psychological effects, so you don't get any of the symptoms of performance anxiety like a red face or shaky hand etc.
The person I know only took it a few times as they got used to public speaking, then stopped taking it and none of the symptoms of performance anxiety came back.
It's a prescription drug so you have to go trough your GP, there are some rare side effects but it's non-addictive. |
