| Comment | Yeah, trusting the girls and the lads giving their stories is the way to go. I know a fair few of the girls were open to speaking on behalf of victims, which immediately helps to put credibility behind the claims.
It's hard, because I've had a few friends in the business speak out about their abuse, both with and without naming names. Once that list came out, followed by ExposeWrestling nuking their account, they had the dregs of Twitter swarm them. And fuck, some of the bile send out just reminds you how awful people can be.
I can somewhat understand the idea behind the account. In theory, giving victims a truly anonymous place to feel safe in naming their abusers isn't a bad one. However, whatever agenda the person behind it had, as well as the recklessness with which they operated the account, further hurt victims whom were already in a very fragile place.
I've probably not come across as very objective or in a clear train of thought, and I know that. I'm truly fucking angry because I've got friends who've now been attacked even further because of the doubt that account created. |
