I can understand that. Especially if you want it under floors or holes drilled in walls.

What I would say though for whatever professional you go with, ask ahead of time what type of router/switch & brand of cabling they would use and go check out reviews for both. A lot of cables do not live up to the quoted specifications and you don't want to have to deal with that after it is all installed. Pony up the extra cash for shielded cable too.

Powerline adaptors are great when they work, but you'd be cursing things when they let you down.

Think carefully about how many ports you want & where, and then add one or two extra, especially around your primary media centre, gaming & PC areas.
