It is super-simple to DIY, you don't need to buy reels of cable and crimpers etc. You do have to decide *what* you want though. Will the four ports on the supplied router be enough?

And you will want wifi extenders (PoE ones are good, but you'll need something to inject power, see earlier comment on router).

What I would do is decide what ports you want where, what wi-fi points (usually called "Access Points") you want where and then decide of you want to try.

You may not need to break into walls etc. Tucking things under edges of carpet etc is perfectly doable.
