Friend of mine asked me to walk her to the bus stop and sit with her the other night because the last time she was harrassed by a junkie for half an hour who wouldn't leave her alone.

Don't get me wrong I've got no problem with doing it as I get to spend more time with her and make sure she's OK, but nobody should feel they have to ask for an escort through the town when it isn't even fucking dark.

Plenty of people think something needs to be done but nobody wants to talk, particularly on this sub, because they'll get shouted down by a loud minority that think you should put the life and comfort of drug addicts, thieves, and vandals above your own self worth.

Be interesting to see what people who actually live in the centre of town think about "compassion" when they have to deal with this filth every day compared to a suburban 15 year old that still lives out of mummy's purse and visits once a month to go shopping in the afternoon.

Now with the covid restrictions and them being put up in some of the hotels in town which they don't even fucking stay in, there's literal groups of them just hanging about outside the sauchiehall street tesco's front door. You hear "any spare change pal?" and look down to see six folk looking back at you. Who wouldn't find that at least a little bit intimidating?
