| Comment | Worryingly, I'm not so sure.
Growing up, we were taught in school all the things like "racism bad", "homophobia bad" but now as an adult, it seems the same people who taught me those values don't actually practice them.
Working in the local, I've seen my old (left-wing) school teachers, drunk, complaining about "immigrants ruining the country". Aunts and uncles who I once respected complaining about gays "needing to be so in your face" when they see two men holding hands. Even my parents, complaining about how "black people already are equal in the law, what are they complaining about?" whilst watching the news.
It's actually terrifying to see. |
