My thoughts are based on what I know from a stint on jury duty and what is going on is that there are spots that people frequent in town if they are part of that lifestyle. Regardless of where they live in the city. What is happening just now is that the people are concentrated in the city centre due to ordinance on providing shelter. This is likely to have increased the numbers also community policing etc. is a lot less.

My general observation based on the rise of anti-social behaviour/ attempted break ins where I live is that people are desperate. We have had 2 attempted break ins by the same guy who is literally trying every house in the area, you could say that's stupidity yes but I think that speaks to how desperate the situation is for some people. Also there has been an increase in wee neds clearly getting bored and looking for reactions.

I suspect it will be diluted when things go back towards normality but it won't disappear, there was already a steady rise in rough sleeping that I witness (work on Queen Street) on my way into work from the South, this situation has pushed more people down that path sadly.
