| Comment | I've read this book before (Safe; by Chris Ryan), and it's got some good advice on staying "safe" in a number of situations, some chapters about staying safe on the street, as well as a bunch of other situations I'd hope no one else finds themselves in. It might be a wee bit OTT tbh, but does have some good advice.

Another thing you can carry is an umbrella with a big wooden handle, quite handy for self defence if you need it. |
