I'm from Glasgow but I live in China, where mask wearing was mandatory for most of this year. Its not anymore and life is completely back to normal for me. It has been back to normal for a while now.
I am fully convinced that the masks are the main reason China was able to take control over the virus spread so quickly.
I mean, they had some other procedures in place that played a massive part in that too (like the track and trace QR codes, and enforced quarantine) but the masks were vital.
My parents wear a mask every time they leave the house in Glasgow. I do wonder if I wasn't in China and sharing my experiences with them if they would still wear the mask. I think there's a strange attitude towards the masks that make people feel like they don't want to wear it. |
