Does the statue actually bring in any *extra* tourist money at least in terms of visitors? Surely it's something you take a look at while you're here and not something you specifically travel to Glasgow to see? Or maybe people do but I can't imagine I'd ever travel to another city just to see a quirky tradition on a statue.
I'm sure it makes money from selling souvenir tat to tourists who are here for whatever reasons too though. |
