I've worked in Housing for about 10 years and I really enjoy it. I work more on the policy side of things, investigating complaints, some media stuff as well, but I have plenty of interaction with tenants and owners as part of my role.

It can be tough, you've got to make the most of what resources you've got and you deal with some ridiculous stuff at times but ultimately it's pretty varied, it's interesting, your dealing with lots of different agencies and it's rewarding.

If you got to Housing Officer level the pay is pretty good, think around 35k and you get some really good benefits. Would be worth your while contacting some Associations to see if you could some work or volunteering to get a feel for it.
