Haha, you've given me more info on my whether I'll be needing to remote work or not than my employers have - and thanks for that as the flexibility of potentially moving later in August or even September has massively reduced my moving anxiety.

My plan is to learn to drive during my first year and then get a car to drive for my second (why oh why I put it off when I was younger and had more free time I do not know lol)

That train in to Central then walk/train to Charing Cross doesn't sound as bad as I was lead to believe. I've not had great experience reliability-wise with buses in the past so will most likely avoid them.
