Comment | And other high-risk groups are excluded too - the issue isn't that deferral shouldn't occur, as that's in line with the false negative rate on testing, it's just that the aggregation is too great so low-risk people (e.g. monogamous homosexual relationships) are lumped in with high-risk ones, and vice-versa. The alternative to the current system would be individualised risk assessment (i.e. to recognise those monogamous relationships, and similarly also defer heterosexual promiscuous ones) - later this year we should be hearing if that's going to be recommended by the FAIR steering group. |
