| Comment | I acknowledge that this is anecdotal but my girlfriend and I sat in Kelvingrove for a few hours the day before Father’s Day and were sat down by the fountain and round about there the age group mainly ranged from 20 to mid-40’s and things there were pretty chilled out. But up on the hill going towards the Gibson Street exit was a large crowd of people who all looked under the age of 18 (I’d say there was close to 100 people there) and they were pretty loud and had a pretty impressive sound system on the go. All afternoon there was a stream of people, quite clearly under the age of 18, walking past us with their Bucky and dragon soop walking towards the hill.
About 8:30 the police started to clear the park because a fight had broke out on the hill and they were guiding the crowds toward the finnieston exit. As the crowd got closer to my girlfriend and I it was pretty obvious that they were under 18 and even the police officer who came to speak to us acknowledged that it was ‘the young team’ that ruined it for everyone else. |
