As stated, he is nice to his customers so he can make money from them. That's it. It's an act. Obviously this guy is unhinged and needs some kind of help. That's not normal or acceptable behaviour. He was in the wrong, he knew it, so he reverted to aggression and violence. Apologising for this behaviour allows animals like this to get away with it.
