Did they do that before all this if they judged that someone had went too long without a haircut? Of course not.

It's fair as a "extra cleaning time" tax, but your barbers have fucked it by trying to implement that on the fly by the sound of it. Like they've massively misjudged that people would see this fee as fairer.

Pre Corona I'd have a haircut every few weeks, every few months or even occasionally every few years. I've never been charged anything but the cost of that particular hairdo, regardless of it being a 5 quid Turkish effort or a 30 quid bearded hipster one and regardless of it only being a few weeks growth or shoulder length.
