I totally get not wanting to share essential spaces! I'm really similar, I despise people touching my dishes. Unfortunately I do really think that for GCU, unless you commute from Paisley or Springburn (both aren't very nice areas, imo, but I've never lived in either of them) prices are a bit high for individual flats. For example, I work 2 days a week and get £475 a month in student loan and I still struggled a little - especially during summer!

To give you an idea of flat prices, I live in a 3 bedroom flat in Govanhill and we have a bedroom going up for rent soon that will cost £350 a month with an en-suite.

GCU and UWS are both respected universities and they don't have the same snobbery (bit of a mean word, but best I could think of) that Glasgow University does. I also know that GCU has a really good social scene as far as societies, etc. My best friend went to GCU to do business studies and she loved it. My ex-boyfriend went to UWS to do computer science and he liked it. As far as reputations I'd say they're both on par with each other :)
