If you've lived in the same place both before and after you changed your name, or there's any direct tie back to somewhere you lived with a previous name, contact Police Scotland through their website and tell them to update your details on the STORM system.
I had to call the police a while back , didn't say who I was but they addressed me by my old name. They got back to me within an hour after I emailed them saying that it had been updated. Sure enough, next time I had reason to call them, they used the correct name + title, plus the officers attending were perfectly respectful despite me not really passing well. |
