| Comment | I didn't go to this particular shop, but what you said about the fact that they figures came direct from the US reminded me of what I used to be like with X-Men action figures in the early 90s.
I'd discovered X-Men through the cartoon and fucking loved it, I used to spend my pocket money on old issues from Arthur's comics in decoury's arcade off Byres Road and newer ones from Future Shock. I'd sit and spend all day drawing my own versions of the covers.
I got as many of the action figures as I could from Woolworths before finding out that forbidden planet sold American ones. It was the most exciting thing ever. They had all sorts of crazy characters that you couldn't get in normal shops, the first one I got was prof. X in his mad hover wheel chair. No one else in my school gave a fuck about X-Men but I was never as happy as when I got to go to forbidden planet and see their wall of exciting figures that you couldn't get anywhere else |
