Honestly, this was my biggest question about your post. Skateboarding? On those pavements? As a kid I used to go out on my roller skates and nearly kill myself on the steep hills and crazy paving. I only tried skateboarding once and it didn't go well. Sorry to hear you're getting abuse from the overgrown neds.
