Worst I ever encountered was in Laos about 15 years ago. Ours are nothing compared to theirs. Any source of light and they swarm. The guest room I was staying in had a fine wire mesh over the bathroom fan otherwise they flew in there in their hundreds... and I mean "hundreds".
I didn't notice the gap under my room door until it was too late. I ended up spraying a huge amount of a can of insecticide on the floor until it pooled up. They crawled under and died like little winged WWI troops going for the "big push" while the next wave climbed over them to avoid the chemicals.
Turn the lights off and they were no bother. But try and walk around anywhere and you needed a face mask otherwise you were breathing the bastards in. |
