There’s a place on hope street opposite the pot still called deli (or New York deli, or nic’s New York deli who knows) and their food is incredible. Both big sandwiches and amazing doughnuts for really good prices! I think they also have a location in the west end but I’m not super sure as I’ve only been to the one in town, but it sounds like maybe exactly what you’re after!
