| Comment | City hall has the powers to operate a bus service, in fact last year when First said they were going to be leaving the business, GCC was all set to make a bid on the franchise itself. Unfortunately the bastards changed their minds and stayed put. Fracnhises aren't forever though and eventually it's gonna come up for renewal. Make sure the Council knows you don't want them renewed, that you want a publicly owned alternative. In the meantime, get a bike if that's at all viable for you. Mine is literally faster than the bus during rush hour. I usually blow past the 21 around Shawfield Greyhounds and laugh the rest of the way home. |
