3 routes on the train from Edinburgh - Queen St.
Via Falkirk High - around 42-50 minutes, up to 4 trains per hour.
Via Cumbernauld- 1Hr 20 min, 2 trains per hour.
Via Bathgate/Airdrie to Queen St Low Level - 1 Hr 20 min, up to 4 trains per hour (trains for Milngavie & Helensburgh)
I just drive the trains, so I’ve genuinely no idea about ticket prices, but you can get a 16-25 Railcard (which is also available to mature students) that gets up to 1/3 off the price - plus you can get a Flexipass (up to 10 journeys within a month) which is aimed at regular travellers that can’t justify a season ticket. If you ask at the ticket office in the station, they can advise you best.
Hope this helps?
