I was brought up in a nice area but we'd still disappear for hours at a time come home manky after crawling through a chain link fence into a derelict factory, get a pure doing off my maw then do it again the next day.
Felt more like Small Faces than Trainspotting.

Old men frequenting pubs are a constant, the same wee old men in their bunnets can still be seen outside pubs today, that same scene repeats itself throughout Glasgow only the faces change.

"Chief" Bromden from One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest expresses this most eloquently, when he describes the whiskey bottle drinking the life from his father as he puts it to his lips, you can see that playing out over the years until today when you pass these Glasgow old mans pubs.

Until the mid 90's Coffee shops weren't a thing before Seattle Coffee company paved the was for *Bucks in the UK.
For a real coffee you had to go into an Italian cafe, Begbie and your mates would call you a bender for not wanting to drink alcohol.
