To me the Showcase still feels new (I was born 89). There was still a cinema in central Coatbridge when I was really young I think, which became a snooker hall.
Something I'm surprised hasn't been mentioned here yet (unless I missed it): when the ABC was a cinema. I saw the Jungle Book there when it was rereleased, think that's my earliest memory of going to a cinema.
