Council tax is worked out on the value of your property in 1990 (even if it wasn't built yet...) and the more it's worth, the more you will pay. It's split into council tax plus a water charge - but the water isn't metered up here. For a single person living in a band B property you pay roughly £110 per month. It's split into 10 payments so you get january and february "free".
