Comment | Looking at old maps, the western portion of the former Glasgow Central line has been developed on at Kirklee and Kelvindale, and the Maryhill branch is now the Tesco. You could make use of the tunnel system from Exhibition centre as far as the Botanics only needing to tear up & split the Kelvin walkway at Kelvinbridge with damage & inconvenience to businesses shops and homes in that area.... But you couldn't run it to Drumchapel without knocking down someone's house.
large sections of the eastern portion of the former Glasgow Central line still exist, and never went near Easterhouse in the first instance, and furthermore are still in use so not sure what you are talking about. |
