Does she have any sort of written contract? This seems hella fishy, being asked to resign is a bit mental to me as well. If it was legitimate, surely she would have been outright sacked for missing a month of work?

I agree with you, it's totally unprofessional & actually a bit ridiculous to me. That should have been an e-mail, voicemail or written letter sent out stating the return to work date.

I've never heard of a work communicating professionally on messenger, of course using it for unprofessional reasons but not something as important as that.

Sorry that your GF is going through this on top of the pandemic, some people honestly have no hearts man.
