| Comment | Yes! It was May/June1990 and I had just moved to Glasgow. I stayed in Cartha St, Shawlands and the White Cart was at the bottom of the street. We were the last tenement. By some miracle, our ground floor flat wasn't flooded, even though some further down were But the water did come halfway up our floor joists. As a result everything got very foosty and we had to move.
What I remember most vividly is watching the TV at my in laws' and seeing firefighters rowing down the street.
My recollection is that some work was done on the river near Pollock Park and now it's sorted. |
