Eating disorders are serious mental illnesses that have high fatality rates, and if by “punish them” you mean, have a very detrimental affect on their recovery from that illness, you’d be absolutely right, it’s extremely dangerous.
What about just...judging it on the price, or asking the waiting staff what the portion size is. If you don’t want it all, don’t eat it all.
