The absolute best thing you can do for an arts degree is learn to write an essay well. I got through undergrad without learning and 10 years later when I started my masters they spoon fed it and everything just clicked. I went from scraping a 2:1 to getting distinctions in every essay and this is absolutely the only difference. There's some wee mini books called "How to write an essay" that are part of a series that are worth picking up.

How far out of school/uni are you? You may need to do a foundation course - Stirling does these along with a concurrent education course. This saves you a year as no need for the post graduate year.
