And now they want to double the city centre population by 2035. I dread to think what that will look like based on their management of the city up to this point. Adding 40,000 people to a city while removing parking and not improving the transport network... what the fuck are they thinking? There's a proposed development for 520 sauchiehall street and it's intended to be 100 "luxury" studio or 1 bed flats. So that's *definitely* going to attract people who will respect and invest in the local area long term.
So many spaces that could be preserved or redeveloped into decent housing or local businesses but they just let it decay into a shitehole. I don't know how they expect communities to thrive in a space that's been designed to undermine them. Glasgow has so much potential but until the council address it's issues with deprivation it's not gonna improve any time soon. |
