Have you considered Pollokshields and using the subway? From a flat in (for example) Kenmure St you could be at queen st in literally 15 mins (via shields road subway). I did that commute 3 times per week for 7 months. Prior to that i did it from hyndland for over 2 years. That became fairly tough. I would buy ten flexi passes (ten was max allowed) which worked out cheaper per journey than return tickets.
