| Comment | My wife grew up just off Duke Street and her dad still works in the area. Lots of flats have been turned into brothels with many illegally trafficked (mostly) young women passing through these flats. There have been two recent raids that I know of but I doubt this will change much in the area.
Break-ins have increased massively too. From what her family are saying, it has risen since the flats to the south (Bluevale?) were taken down. How it's connected, I'm not sure.
The last time I was there a few weeks ago, there was litter and dog shite everywhere on the pavements.
I started visiting the area about 2001 and in that time there has been a marked decline in the area in more regards than there have been improvements. |
