Most people seem to think CABs are government funded with full-time paid staff. In reality, the CABs are independent & locally-funded, with many services provided by trained volunteers. They're already under ridiculous pressure at the current funding level.
I'm just hoping the council have made this announcement in order to raise public awareness and support for the CABs, thus giving themselves a bit of leverage in trying to seek emergency funding from the SG. |
