| Comment | You can definitely go into city centre but I wouldn’t be hanging around when it’s quiet (the small hours of the morning) and would recommend not wearing headphones so that you can tune in to what’s going on around you.
The area around central station has been a bit rough for years (union street, Gordon street and argyle street) but it has spread a bit.
Historically the trongate is also a bit dicey including the walk down to saltmarket. I’d recommend only visiting glasgow green in the daytime and sticking to busy pathways.
From trongate that leads you into the barras (barrowlands) for which the same applies.
It’s all fine, and lots of people like it for being “real, salt of the earth places and people” and it’s definitely worth an explore. But just be mindful. |
