You make a fair point but most people are likely to hold off for the price they want. If the price is in line with other similar properties then they just sit on it.

More interest isn’t worth it if the client can’t move onto the next property that they have in mind.

This tends to be more typical in properties over 500k or if a property has a bit of an issue (antisocial behaviour or recent bad press of the street kind of thing.)
