I always just think older building have so much more love put into them and you can tell that with the details, nearly everything built nowadays is just so flat and uniform and if there's anything done to make it stand out it's in weird quirks of the geometry.

So many old buildings in glasgow have a detailed facade or something else that just gives so much charm and character.
