| Comment | Allegedly born in Lothian, Teneu (there's about a dozen different spellings) is the mother of Saint Kentigern, founder of Glasgow. Her son was born of her rape by a Welsh prince and when she discovered she was pregnant was sentenced to death by her father, King Lleuddun.
Thrown off [Traprain Law](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traprain_Law) she somehow survived and made her way to the community of Saint Serf in Culross, Fife. It was there her son was born and the community gave him the nickname, *Mungo*.
Kentigern would leave the community to prostelyse to the Britons of Strathclyde and would set up his church on the banks of the Moledinar Burn which is now the street that runs under the bridge into the Necropolis. The site of his church is now of course Glasgow Cathedral. |
