It absolutely infuriates me no end, that there are millions and millions thrown at 'precision medicine! We will genotype everyone and find variants and find brain structures that blah blah blah 20 years away', all the while there's no money for fucking social workers and health visitors and actual real stuff that would help people **now**.
There is a day or two a year thrown away, because the NHS/council take different holidays and the NHS folk can't get into the council building because it's locked. The fuck, man.
She's obviously sacked, but Catherine Calderwood was *very* good for this: she called for 'realistic medicine'; let's get the basics right before we start trying for space-age. |
