I work for a national mental health charity, and have received MH support myself in Glasgow - though a good 7 or so years ago. Our services (SAMH) generally need a GP or social work referral but we have a info service which can advise.

For psychological therapies (on NHS) you will generally need a referral from your GP and then a mental health assessment. If you go this route you can ask for a therapy other than CBT, though waits might be long. And by long months and months unfortunately. With covid it will also be video based therapy.

I would also strongly second the earlier suggestion of LifeLink they really really helped me before I got psychotherapy though the NHS and I believe they have a self referral service.
