Comment | We used to walk out through Queens Park (always on a leash), 99.9% of the dogs were sound.
Ours are never off lead because:
1. One's a husky. That ain't coming back until it wants to.
1. They other one can get himself into trouble.
1. The park isn't enclosed (open gates) and there's major roads nearby. I have seen dogs only *just* caught by their owners before exiting.
Both dogs are trained (even the Husky does have a functioning recall, not as good as a Border Collie) but we know them and won't set them up for.failure, or worse given the Dangerous Dogs Act.
I would love to see enclosed spaces where dogs can run and play in safety. We've been to the unofficial one in Glasgow Green (both dogs have a blast there) and I know there's a proper one in Bellahouston Park, but that's it. |
