Number 2 is that it is legal (as in, if other things which are currently illegal were legalised, some people would probably use those instead of drinking), and if alcohol was illegal people would drink less.
Then you've got the other reasons:
Tastes good, it's relaxing, lowers you inhibitions, it's social, helps you make friends, feels nice, can have health benefits, reduces stress and anxiety...and many more.
There are drawbacks of course, if you overdo it, then you'll have a range of problems. |
