Comment | I have walked past the statues in Kelvingrove multiples times pretty much every day for 3 years, when they were graffitied I seen a lot of people comment about how terrible it was to deface a statue honouring those who defended our freedom and several mentions of "the war"
For the first time I decided to look at the inscription on the status, it was for those who died fighting in the Boer war. A war between 2 seperate colonisers of South Africa who introduced apartheid and were having a war over who deserved Africas diamonds, a war which of course resulted in a huge number of deaths for native Africans. |
