Comment | Actually, there are so many creative ways to exercise your dog without them being off-leash and potentially jeopardizing their own health (getting hit by a cyclist, running away, eating a cooked bone, spooking an anxious dog which could turn into a fight) or jeopardizing my dog (who is the one walking by my side trying to avoid your dog). Playing with them can burn tons of energy, things like fetch (either in a yard or in the house), puzzle games, or going for bike rides, rollerblading with them, etc. And I would have to disagree with you; to give them boundaries and structure isn't the same as giving them a shite life. If anything, providing dogs with boundaries and structure and intentional exercise takes way more energy and attention from me than letting my dog off-leash while I look down at my phone. Youtube McCann dog training, they have a lot of other resources. |
