So in your opinion the pandemic ended in June? The same month the lockdown restriction were eased, yet lockdown didn't work? Funny that.

Your point about mortality rates regarding flu is ridiculous. You're basically saying that its OK that people died of covid because they should have died of flu? Isn't it good that flu mortality is falling. Why write off those gains as an exchange for the high morality of covid this year. Were these people destined to die? No.

Young people do not exist in a vacuum. Yes they're less effected, but the more prevelant the virus is in society, the more likely it is that vulnerable people will be exposed to it.
