I'd love to see it as Glasgow Crossrail, particularly if they can do an interchange at West Street with the Subway. The main issue I've heard with it is that it would ideally need to be four tracks rather than just the two to resolve the capacity issues. But if it's a choice between a subpar transport connection that doesn't need any more permanent way installing and total removal, I'd go for it.
