Well, and look who is exaggerating now.

I said nothing about black mirror dystopia. I said that while it is indeed nice to give people money for no reason, I asked why we feel that giving some (but not others) money for no reason really is something we should do. You proudly say "your parents raised you to do that" as if it is really something good that should not be discussed.

But it can be discussed, and so I ask you: why is that a thing in our culture? In some other cultures you would offend people by doing the very same thing, because they are paid for the work they do and they are no beggars. I see argument that those jobs are poorly paid and you might want to top their poor salaries up, but the social pressure is so great that you can see people tipping people despite that the job of tipped is paid better than a job of a tipping one...

Can one of the reasons be that by tipping people you feel better for a few seconds?
