Again I think I wasn't clear in my original post, the wall I want to take down is not brick, I'm pretty sure it's plasterboard (sounded very hollow when I knocked on it).
I want to remove the plastering on (what I think is) a brick wall on an adjacent wall. Honestly I shouldn't have mentioned the wall I want to take down.
